DR. COLIN CROSBY
MA FFSEM(UK) FFSEM(I) MB BS MRCS LRCP
 One of the few full-time Sport and Exercise Medicine Specialists in the UK, Dr. Crosby is Medical Director of Sport and Exercise Medicine at the Garden Hospital in London.
He is also President of the Sport and Exercise Medicine section of the Royal Society of Medicine.
In 2006 Dr. Crosby received one of his most prestigious appointments, when he was elected as a Foundation Fellow of the newly created Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (UK). He was also elected as a Foundation Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine of the Irish Royal Colleges in 2005.
A former Regional Chairman of the British Association of Sport & Exercise Medicine (BASEM), he is also a founder member of the United Kingdom Association of Doctors in Sport (UKADIS), which has now merged with BASEM.
After a first degree in Human physiology at University College, Oxford, he read Medicine at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington and trained in Orthopaedic surgery before setting up several Sports Injury Clinics.
He is a lecturer in Sports and Exercise Medicine at the universities of Hertfordshire and Middlesex, as well as Medical Advisor to several health clubs and other organisations including Luton International Marathon, Creechurch Underwriting Ltd., The Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and Belsize Park RFC.

He has been a staff tutor for the National Coaching Foundation, Lecturer in Anatomy of Motion and Exercise Physiology for the Physical Exercise Association of Great Britain and an Independent Sampling Officer for the Doping Control Unit of the Sports Council.
He has also been appointed as the Sports Medicine Consultant to the Central Council for Physical Recreation (CCPR) and drafted the medical aspects of the report “A Charter for School Sport" which was influential in the government thinking about the National Curriculum and physical activity in childhood.
Publications include the Sports Medicine chapter in the Royal College of Physicians’ “Current Themes of Rheumatology Care” and the project manual for the General Practice Exercise Referral Scheme. He was also Exercise Medicine Consultant for London Weekend Television and supervised the medical screening for the popular “Gladiators” programme.
He has long standing interest in spa Medicine and is the past Secretary of the British Association of Thermal Therapy (BATH) and is a member of the Medical Advisory Committee for the International Spa Association (ISPA) Europe and the Bath Spa Millennium project.
